Outline Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrive Tbilisi. Day 2: Full day city tour of Tbilisi with excursions to the Old Town, major museums, churches and architectural monuments, and other sites of this fascinating city. Day 3: Excursions in Kakheti: Visit Signagi hill-town; Tsinandali Park and Museum; Visit Telavi; Excursions to Alaverdi Cathedral, Gremi architectural complex; Optional visit to a winery;  Return to Tbilisi. Day 4: Excursion to Mtskheta, the ancient capital of Georgia. Trip to Gori. Excursion to Uplistsikhe cave-town. Drive to Bakuriani nestled in the Mountains of the Lesser Caucasus. Day 5: Excursion to Vardzia cave-monastery. On the way stop at Khertvisi fortress. Overnight in Bakuriani. Day 6: Trip along the Georgian Military Highway. On the road stop at Ananuri Fortress. Overnight in Kazbegi. Day 7: Explore Kazbegi and enjoy wonderful views of the Caucasian Mountains, including Mt. Kazbek, 5047m. Night in Tbilisi. Day 8: End of the tour.
